Maui Restaurant Reviews!

Aloha from Maui!   Since moving here two months ago we (a family of four ) have visited many of Maui's local restaurants and I would like to share with you some of my thoughts and opinions.

MY PERSONAL FAVORITE

Cafe De Amis in Piai.  Oh my goodness!  They serve Medeteranian and French  quisine.  The hummus is to die for and so are their curries.  Crepes,  crepes, crepes, oh how I love all of their crepes.  The have breakfast, lunch, dinner and desert crepes and their coffee is amazing!  AND I love their outdoor restaurant area.

PIZZA

For Pizza, which is my personal favorite we found Serpico's in Pukalani.  It is worth the drive there.  They make large stone oven New York style pizzas.  The taste and cost is great.  We tried many other things from their menu and they were equally as good as the pizza. We live pretty far from this restaurant but when we want pizza we don't mind the drive.

Flat Bread Pizza Company in Piai  is a very good restaurant too.  The pizza is pretty spendy but they have a great choice of toppings and offer many that are vegetarian and vegan.  Qaulity is great and the restaurant environment is quite unique.  Very family friendly, in fact , they feature some of the children's coloring art in their menus.  Very cute.

Shaka Pizza in Kihei is about the same cost but not near the quality.  The crust is pretty decent but I thought their ingredients were pretty poor.

Pizza Maddness I would rate about the same as Shaka but their ingredients are better then the crust and it is quite a bit more spendy.

INDIAN

My second favorite food is Indian Food.  I am sorry to say that there are only two options on the entire island. =(

Maui Masala in Kihei left me wanting to check out the other Indian restaurant.  The quality was poor although the samosas and pakora's were good.  The ambiance is terrible.  You either have to cram into their tiny little place or sit outside and use the tables that really belong to the neighboring taco joint.  They don't seem to mind.

Monsoon India I haven't been to yet due to the inflated prices.  It is a buffett but the starting price is 14$ for lunch. I do plan on trying it once though.

MEXICAN

Maui Taco  in Kihei  is pretty decent.  The prices are good and the quality is too but there aren't many places to sit so we usually get it to go and go across the street and sit by the beach!

Fred's in Kihei is great!  We love the outdoors eclectic setting and the servings are huge.

Taqueria Cruz is pretty good and the prices match but I found the servings to be kind of small.  They do offer live music on Tuesdays though.

Fernando's in Kahalui was very good but the service was extremely slow because we weren't sitting next to the bar area.

Polli's in Makawao I found to be extremely overprice.  It is a shame because the town is so lovely.

OTHERS

Pita Paradise in Kihei is OK.  The quality was good but I thought it was a bit oveprice for the serving size.  The outdoor seating area is very quaint.

Maui Thai i Kihei is one of my husband's favorite restaurants.  He just raves about this place.  The staff is very friendly and the food is very good quality.

Lu Lu's in Kihei.  Well, I personally will never go there again.  The food was terrible and they advertise that you can sit and watch the susnset from their upstairs dining.  It is a very obstructed view.

Spices in Kihei  is a very good restaurant.  The setting is very nice but you really need to stick to either breakfast or lunch because the dinner prices are pretty high. The waiters are very friendly.

Outback Steakhouse.     Well,  =(  is all I have to say.

Stella Bues in Kihei is a very nice place.  The setting is nice and the food was very good too. A little pricey but overall I was happy.

Kihei Cafe  is a quirky little place.  You place your order inside and then sit outside and the waiters bring you your food.  It is kind of like hide and seek because when they come out the door they say your name but it is usually so loud due to being right next to the road that you can't hear them. Then they walk around looking for you.  Funny.  Anyway,  the food was good and the portions were huge.  If the setting were nicer I would probably return.

 My Newest Rating

Cuatro

Super high quality dining.  A little pricey  but  so worth it.  My husband and I have tried almost everything on the menu now and I can honestly say that the only thing I wouldn't order again was the steak.  I'm not a huge steak person though.  This place is very nice and quiet but a little hard to find in Kihei.
